Our client is an award-winning global architecture practice and interior designer with offices across the UK. They are now looking to recruit a Business Development Lead for their London Office based in Paddington. This role is essential for the business as it will involve building client relationships and helping win new projects. This is a senior position within the company where your job will include being the face of and representing the business. The main focus of the role will be to cultivate existing and new client relationships to secure new opportunities for the company, especially focusing on UK business. They are looking for someone who has a previous background within the Architecture/Interior Design industry as knowledge of this is essential. A proven track record involving client relationship building and sales is also essential.
The Role
• To assist in winning new work for the benefit of the business.
• Executing business development activities aligned with the evolving UK market and the strategy outlined by the UK Board.
• Evaluating the appropriateness of current conferences and recommending additional ones.
• Collaborating in a supportive role with directors responsible for the targeted markets.
• Where necessary support the project director and the accounts team with the follow-up of invoices and payments.
• Define the scope of works, and deliverables to ensure clarity.
• Participating in the review of appointments.
• Proactively re-engaging with the existing client network promptly.
• Supporting the business in achieving its ambition for continuous improvement across all aspects of its operations.
• To help improve the strengthening of our brand which is all about selling high-quality design.
The Candidate
• Previous experience working within an architecture/ interior design business with strong industry knowledge.
• Previous experience in successfully winning new business within previous roles.
• Happy to work flexible hours, attending events, travelling and dinners when needed.
• A creative and enthusiastic individual with a passion for business development and winning new work.
• Work well as part of a team and thrive in a diverse and exciting studio environment.
• Experience in a range of design and building sectors within architecture would be preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple client bases and effectively manage your time.
• Positive spirit and can-do attitude.
