Job description
We are working with an innovative international architectural practice based near Liverpool Street who are currently looking for an experienced qualified Management Accountant to join their team, ideally previously having worked in a similar industry. This role is part of a fairly small accounts team, reporting to the Head of Finance, supporting the business and its pipeline of up-and-coming projects across the world. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is adaptable, uses initiative and is keen to progress in their career.
The Role
To prepare the end of the month and end of the year to trial balance stage and management accounts.
To prepare balance sheets and P&L reconciliations as required, journals and ledger maintenance.
Managing the Outsourced Payroll and Remuneration Process, both UK and abroad.
Assisting with budgeting & forecasting, and production of 3 Year Plans.
Assisting with Cash reporting, revenue, job profitability and expenditure.
Assisting with the preparation of all tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and overseas tax compliance.
Assisting with audits and liaising with external auditors.
Assisting in the preparation of and presentation of Management Information for the Commercial/Non-Financial Teams and Business Support.
Managing/mentoring junior accounts staff.
Liaising with external contacts.
The Candidate
Qualified accountants or those close to completion (preferably ACA or ACCA).
Strong IT skills including knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft suite, especially advanced Excel skills.
A keen interest and skills in data management, particularly Power Query/Power BI/PowerPivot would be a significant advantage.
Experience in the preparation of consolidated financial information would be an advantage.
A desire to improve and seek promotion within the firm, using initiative to improve the business and the role.
Proactive approach and ability to make continuous improvements to what they do, particularly with regard to emerging technology and software solutions.
Demonstration of strong and clear thought processes and communication skills are essential.
Proactive, team player and willing to work autonomously.
A natural at prioritizing your workload conscientiously and working to strict reporting deadlines.
Able to take responsibility for own work.
