Job description

This architectural design practice who specialise in the master planning, regeneration and design of large housing estates have exclusively appointed White Space Recruitment to recruit a Residential Layout Designer, Urban Designer, Master Planner, Architect or experienced Architectural Assistant with strong skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, InDesign and Photoshop.

Working in a hybrid capacity from their London studios in Camden, the successful Residential Layout Designer, Urban Designer, Master Planner, or experienced Architectural Assistant will be working in a small team of Architects & Designers on large housing schemes ranging up to 500 homes (normally up to 4-storeys) and assisting on RIBA stages 0-3. Tasks will include urban design, master planning, producing presentations, managing all processes, producing design access statements, working on planning applications and engaging with clients etc.

White Space is looking for Residential Layout Designers, Urban Designers, Master Planners, Architects or Architectural Assistants with the energy, confidence, and proven experience of having previously worked on other low-rise housing schemes, or mixed-use housing schemes, whilst demonstrating proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, InDesign and Photoshop.

Residential Layout Designers, Urban Designers, Master Planners, Architects or Architectural Assistants applying must also have good proficiency in producing master plans, residential layouts, concept designs, presentations, design access statements, planning applications and other works normally associated with RIBA stages 0-3 along with the aforementioned software skills to qualify.

Ultimately this client is looking for someone to join on a permanent or 6 month initial fixed term basis, however they are equally open minded about engaging with contractors / freelancers looking for a 6-12 month contract.
