Proactive and highly effective BIM Manager required for the Manchester HQ of an established AJ100 architectural practice (will consider London based candidates as well)
This northern HQ’d architectural practice is seeking a talented and experienced BIM Manager to support their growing teams within their Manchester and London offices (will consider London based candidates as well). The practice employs over eighty architects and Interior Designers across both offices that specialise in Architecture, Masterplanning, Interior Design and 3D/Graphics with a major focus on the hospitality, residential, retail, and commercial sectors. Having operated for several decades and having worked in all commercial sectors throughout the UK and Europe, their extensive portfolio of work ranges in value from £250,000 to over £500m.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering and implementing BIM from strategy level through to project level for a whole host of prestigious clients.
Some of your duties will include the following:
Capture client organisational, project and asset information requirements and develop a BIM strategy to meet them.
Author Assessment and Need, Invitation to Tender, Tender Response and Appointment BIM documentation for Appointing and Lead Appointed Parties aligned to latest industry standards.
Lead and manage the roll out and implementation of the above across a programme of works and at project level.
Clearly communicate the BIM strategy, documentation & workflows to stakeholders.
Identify risks and appropriate mitigations.
Interface with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM procedures from strategy level through to project delivery.
Lead & manage a team of Coordinators and Technicians.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings & workshops.
Support projects with implementing 3D coordination and federation, visualisation, 4D Planning & Scheduling, 5D Quantification & Cost Planning, 6D Sustainability and 7D In Use.
Carry out structured audits of project models on regular basis.
Analyse and validate data against project information requirements.
Develop existing templates, standards and procedures.
Provide regular training to colleagues on authoring software, CDE and BIM standards.
Establish internal project federation strategy and support colleagues with project deliverables.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of BIM documentation, CDE templates and processes.
Create and contribute to bid proposals.
The ideal candidate should possesses the following :-
Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering or similar
Minimum 5 years professional experience
An advanced working knowledge of Revit integration with Twinmotion and Navisworks for concept feasibility studies via Google Earth Pro.
Understanding of the functions and responsibilities relevant to a BIM enabled project.
A working knowledge of the creation and maintenance of key BIM documentation.
A proven track record of working with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms
The ability to work independently & be self-motivated.
