Job description

We are hiring for an ​an established multidisciplinary practice in London who are looking to add a Building Regulations Principal Designer to the team! We are looking for someone who can join the team, work collaboratively and provide day-to-day expert building regulation advice to support the delivery of the Principal Designer role and assist across the business where required.

You will be joining RIBA & RICS chartered practice who have been established for nearly 70 years and currently has around 85 Staff. They have expertise spanning across Architecture, Building Surveying, Employers agent and structural engineering and safety compliance with long standing relationships in the Residential, NHS, healthcare and later living sectors.

The role will be within the building consultancy/building surveying team working across all areas in the business.

The ideal candidate for this role with have the following;


• In-depth knowledge of building regulation and approved documents
• Higher Risk Buildings (HRB’s)
• High Rise Residential
• Hospitals / HTM standards

Your responsibilities will include;

• Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the organisation’s delivery of the Building Regulations
• Principal Designer service across varied projects in residential, NHS and later living sectors
• Assist company with further developing the service and provide insights to internal teams and clients on BSA 2022 and secondary legislation from a building control perspective
• Working within the in-house design team and external clients to provide building regulation advice.
• Management of building control trackers
• Management of change control trackers
• Management of BSR submission trackers
